Many of the finest and most memorable moments to Ayr fans where under the iconic pylons pulled down recently: Andy Walkers second penalty of the 1999 cup clash against rivals Kilmarnock, Mark Roberts goal against Hibernian earlier this season, one of the numerous games of the cup runs of the early 21st century amongst many others.
The 36 metre tall pylons erected in 1970 are going to be replaced by new 'state of the art' 20 metre ones, but will never replace them in the skyline of the 'Auld Toon'.
